Default Registered users only section

I suggest making part of SEO section 'registered users only' and they must have at least so many posts to view.

It would make people curious about what is being said and we could keep some of our better, more advanced tips slightly less known.

Also, does anyone here actually work for seo.com? If not, then it may be nice to get a couple employees to take part. Maybe even Mike Mann

sweet! What do you think about my idea on registered user only sections. Maybe the Advanced SEO section.

Could you get Mike Mann to log in? I'd love to hear some of his tips, especially on domaining.

Mike Mann owns the company but he doesn't actually visit these forums. I do like your idea of a registered users only section.

I did that on a forum, and registrations went way up. A little scarcity never hurt.

Yeah, play into peoples' curiosity.

I think creating some valuable resources that are exclusive to seo.com would be great. One idea I've had would be something that would look at the robots.txt and other sources, to see if the link is truly crawlable. I wrote about it here: http://www.reviewerofsites.com/2008/...link-crawling/

I haven't seen anything of this sort yet and I think it would be really useful for linkbuilding.

It could also be hidden until certain requirements are met.

How about a create a new sub-forum of the SEO forums and call it Tricks of the Trade"? I will make it accessible to members with 15 or more posts.

15 is not very many. A halfway talkative person could do 15 posts in just a few minutes. Maybe it should require 15 posts outside of the General Forum...

General Chat doesn't count towards posts. I already have a user group that is set at 15 posts to gain access to the market place. I was going to use the same group for the advanced SEO forum.
